Author: Howard Harding

Egypt's Mazen Gamal maintained his 100% record in PSA World Tour event finals by beating home hero David Vidal in the climax of the PSA Magdalena Open, a $4,500 Satellite event in its second year at Club Squash Peri Esport in Castellon, Spain.

After title triumphs in the FAJR International and Norooz International in Iran last year, the 24-year-old from Cairo (pictured) celebrated the third final appearance of his career when he beat eighth-seeded Austrian Jakob Dirnberger in the Castellon semi-finals.

By contrast, 31-year-old Vidal, from Majorca, got the better of fellow Spaniard Alejandro Garbi Caro in the other semi in straight games.

But Mazen, the top seed, was too strong for second seed Vidal, winning 11-6, 11-6, 11-4 to claim his third Tour title.
